Deniz Tek

A young American arrived in Australia in the early seventies to study medicine, formed a rock’n’roll band and completed his degree while playing in it. Radio Birdman’s short, intense life went on to shape Australian independent rock.

After returning to the United States, Deniz Tek spent nine years as a military pilot before coming back to music at the end of the eighties. This archive follows those intertwined lives through his bands, records, production work and interviews.
