Power pop born from The Kryptonics

Challenger 7 carried Ian Underwood's melodic guitar writing into a louder Sydney line-up with ties to [The Kryptonics](/bands/the-kryptonics/), [You Am I](/bands/you-am-i/), Front End Loader and [Asteroid B-612](/bands/asteroid-b-612/).

First sessions and a new line-up

Underwood initially recorded with Greg Hitchcock, Richard Corey and Peter Kostic. After that short-lived formation, bassist Dan Bell and drummer Marty Doo joined, followed by guitarist Stewart Cunningham.
