Hard-Ons fused hardcore velocity, metal weight and surf-pop hooks while controlling their own recordings, artwork, touring and merchandise.

The original trio · 1982–1994

School friends Keish de Silva, Peter Black and Ray Ahn built an extensive independent following. Their first era ran from Surfin’ on My Face through five studio albums and frequent overseas touring.

Return and expansion · 1997–2020

The trio reunited in 1997. After de Silva’s departure, Peter Kostic and later Murray Ruse took over on drums while Black became lead vocalist, producing a further run of albums.

Tim Rogers era

Tim Rogers joined as lead singer in 2021. I’m Sorry Sir, That Riff’s Been Taken, Ripper ‘23 and I Like You a Lot Getting Older brought the group its highest Australian chart positions.
