Melbourne power pop with a long melodic memory
Icecream Hands grew from the Mad Turks from Istanbul into a durable Melbourne band centred on Charles Jenkins' songwriting and close vocal harmonies.
Rubber Records years
Charles Jenkins, Dominic Larizza, Arturo Larizza and Derek Smiley formed the first line-up. Douglas Robertson replaced Arturo after the debut EP, while Marcus Goodwin replaced Dominic before Sweeter Than the Radio.
Breaks and returns
After Broken UFO and a best-of collection, the group returned for The Good China. Further reunions led to No Weapon but Love and Giant Fox Pineapple Tree.
